We shared this project on social media towards the end of November, and it’s safe to say that quite a few of you were impressed. So we thought we’d give a bit more of an insight into what we did.
This project was part of a residential house in Ellwood that we worked on, including the kitchen, bedroom and sitting room. The client supplied the chairs for this room.
We created fabric deep double pinch pleat curtains using Osborne & Little’s Anglesey collection, which were fully black out lined. We then installed a pelmet, above the curtains, that was fixed to the ceiling, and in the same fabric. This was followed by a corded Silent Gliss track underneath, ready for the blackout roller blind. This was an electric blind that was connected by Inside Out. The wires were hidden behind the panels. The cinema and accompanying electrics were also installed by Inside Out, with whom we partner with when it comes to home cinemas.
The speaker panels were installed, and we added a lightbox with Kobe Cousta fabric, which covered the speakers themselves. This fabric is sheer and honey-coloured. The range features leather-like weaves that create a contemporary look, perfect for a home cinema. We added acoustic treatment and soundproofing along with the wall panels. The wall panelling was created with Designers Guild's Nevada collection, and foam was fitted and stapled with heavy duty velcro underneath.
This cinema room was an exciting project to work on, as we have worked on the rest of the house, so seeing this room come alive was incredible. Every cinema room that we work on is a memorable task in itself, and this was no exception.
