Our biggest project the year was helping with the furbishing of Carbis Bay’s Beach Lodges, their latest holiday accommodation for 2018. These lodges are situated right on the beach, meaning that the golden sand is only a few steps away. We provided the soft furnishings and window treatments for each lodge, including remote control shading for the roof windows.

A variety of window treatments were made throughout this project. For the living rooms and dining rooms, we created sheer pencil pleat curtains with Threads fabric, and wave head curtains using GP&J Baker. We also used this fabric for the cartridge pleat curtains in the bedroom, which, like the other sets of curtains, were blackout lined and installed on Silent Gliss tracks. As well as this, we used GP&J Baker fabrics for the bed throws.

We also installed shading systems for the roof windows, using motorised blinds that are remote controlled.

As well as this, we produced the headboards for each lodge, which featured shallow buttons and piping around the back edge. Many of the fabrics used were from GP&J Baker and Threads, the fabric for the buttons coming from their Meridian Linex collection.

Cushions were made for all eight lodges as well, using a wide range of fabrics. For some of the cushions, we paired two different fabrics together, such as a modern printed fabric from Mulberry on the front with a fabric from GP & J Baker’s Perfect Plains collection on the back. The colour schemes featured a selection of sunset colours and bold tribal patterns, perfect for a beach lodge. An example of this is Kravet’s Churra pattern, which is based on a 20th century woman’s shawl in Mexico. Combining this with bright, bold fabrics means that we could use it within the chic and contemporary design.

We also used a range of blues for some of the cushions to keep with the beach theme. This includes the Wild Geese Linen fabric by Mulberry, an exotic and exciting print that contrasted the burnt orange piping beautifully.

Finally, we made up a total of ten window seats using existing foam pads.

We love the finished look of these beach lodges, as the design is chic and complements the beach view perfectly. The overall project was a large one, and we worked hard throughout the year to ensure that it was carried out as smoothly as possible, and that each product we created was made to the highest standard. We are extremely happy with the result.
