For blinds please measure from the top of the window frame to the bottom where the sill sits (bearing in mind whether you want the blind to sit within the recess of the window or outside of it).

Allowances for working out finished sizes (outside recess)

Always work in cms
Blind width - recess + 8cm each side or a cm wider than sill width (dependant on any restrictions)
Minimum allowance to blind width - recess + 5cm each side
Blind fixing position - halfway above recess (dependant on any restrictions or if needs to be inline with curtains)
Blind drop + 8cm below or 1cm above radiator
Please be conscious of any dado rail, skirting or tiling within a recess as the blind will need to be made narrower to accommodate this - more light bleed may be visible
